I stared at the old pictures in the scrap book; they were all taken during my Pokémon journey of my accomplishments and of him, my one, first and only true love.  I never knew who my father was he and my mother didn’t get along well so he left before I was born.  I didn’t grow up seeing two people madly in love with each other just my mother and her Pokémon I played with.  When I met him it was accidental and not suppose to happen, but I never resented it.  I wish I could be in his arms again and touch his silky red hair and look at his beautiful red eyes again. It’s been years since I last saw him I’ve searched, sadly I can’t find him.  I went to his old town and asked the towns people still no luck of where he’s been.  He never found out my secret, if he did maybe we would be together living happily.  I cried warm nostalgic tears and decided to reminiscent about the past, before my secret happened.
The yellow bright sun poured into my room as I heard the cooing of the Pidgey dancing its way towards my bed.  I opened my heavy eyelids and gently lifted my body up to gaze at the outside world.  It was the first day of spring and my, what a glorious day it foreshadowed to be.
“I was supposed to do something today, but what was it?” I wondered groggily.  At the next exact moment my mother’s Pidgeot flew as fast as lightning to my window and used Uproar.  The booming of its loud cry made my ears buzz in pain as it quickly flew away before I could yell at it to stop. As I stepped out of bed onto the cool cobalt tiled floor I felt my tiny foot touched a hard dry rectangle. I carefully looked down cautious of the fact my mother’s Pidgeot might fly back in a second randomly and saw it was the invitation to the ceremony later that day.
“That’s right today is the day the ten year old children of Majestic Rose Town receive their starter Pokémon!” I yelled ecstatically only to have my silly grin erased from my face.  I was sadly six years old; only the year after an individual has turned ten may they be allowed to leave town and become Pokémon trainers.  I angrily stomped to my door mirror and looked at my face; my brown hair was tangled like the vines of a Tangela and my brown eyes looked just as wild.
“It’s not fair, why can’t I be ten yet, why can’t I get a starter, why can’t I leave the town to go become a Pokémon trainer and catch plenty of Pokémon to travel with?!” I thought agitated, then I remembered my older cousin, Camilla was leaving tomorrow because she becomes a trainer today. I had to go to the ceremony to watch her bestowed with her starter, everyone always got the same Pokémon. Camilla didn’t even do good school, yet she was going off onto her own into an unknown land.
As the clocked ticked slowly I prepared myself for the ceremony as my mother continued her every day schedule excited about her older sister’s daughter leaving to become a Pokémon master and rambling on and on how much a magnificent trainer she’ll be and hopefully she’ll bring home the Pokémon League Champion Cup.  My mother has a twin my Aunt Rosalinda; Camilla’s mother, they both travelled Johto, Kanto and Sinnoh more than twenty years ago never successful enough to get to even the Semi finals of the Pokémon League.  Even though she never won and quit she still loved her Pokémon, they were her invaluable friends.
The clock striked two as my mother’s annoying Pidgeot came back into the house to use Uproar. I loathe at how that Pidgeot always flew in and out of the house terrorizing me with its Uproar and how my mother always managed to giggle like a teetering little Pichu.
As we walked through the quiet town of Majestic Rose I noticed a flock of Altaria fly off gracefully to Mt. Silver, it was mysterious seeing it from here, I felt as if the mountain hid some secrets undiscovered and waiting for someone to anonymously walk in on them. I knew it was the location where Johto’s Pokémon League took place, but some nostalgic feeling in my heart
“May I have your attention citizens of Majestic Rose Town?” Boomed out Ms. Linton’s voice, she was in charge of raising Pokémon from eggs to give to the new trainers. “Today I present these five ambitious children with their Pokémon to make us here proud when they head off to the Pokémon League at Mt. Silver. Hopefully one brings back the Champion Cup and if not we’ll still be proud of them.” She cheered hopefully, we had never had someone bring back a Champion Cup, however it still seems as if she’s has faith one day someone will.
Later that day night serenely came as the Hoothoot hooted melodically to the crystal clear moon.  I stood silently outside on the porch dreaming of flying away like those Altaria, those Pokémon got to see everything from the sky I bet they saw so many beautiful things on their journeys.
“Eh-em?!” a loud startling noise scared me just to see it was Camilla as she stood with a worn down book in her hands with a happy smile on her face as her blue eyes sparkled.
“Oh it’s you, what do you want?” I acknowledged rudely for I envied everything about her, her beautiful blonde hair, her blissful blue eyes and now even more that she was a Pokémon trainer.
“Don’t be cross, I brought you something, I want to read it to you before I leave tomorrow morning” she answered calmly. “This is my favorite story and I think you’ll like it.”
Little was I to know this story would change me completely.
